Medi.NET
Intelligent Digital Platform for Location- and Time-Independent Medicine of the Future
Intelligent digital platform for location- and time-independent medicine: interoperable infrastructure based on IEEE 11073 SDC and HL7 FHIR, demonstrator and test environments, and a partner network of more than 80 actors; coordinated by ICCAS.

Medi.NET establishes a digital and interoperable infrastructure for connected, location- and device-independent access to clinical data and medical technologies. The project addresses key barriers in today’s healthcare IT landscape, including fragmented interfaces, complex clinical system environments, and strict requirements for data protection and cybersecurity. Coordinated by ICCAS, Medi.NET connects clinics, research institutions and companies through a transfer-oriented framework that supports the introduction, integration and evaluation of innovative medical products in clinical and clinical-adjacent environments.
Medi.NET developed a technical platform based on international standards such as IEEE 11073 SDC and HL7 FHIR, enabling the networking of medical devices, mobile point-of-care systems, wearables and clinical information systems. The project has established and expanded demonstrator and test environments for various medical scenarios, including clinical workflows, mobile medical devices, digital documentation, device connectivity and data-driven support functions. In close cooperation with regional companies, novel medical technologies have been integrated into realistic application contexts, strengthening the link between industrial development and healthcare needs and initiating further innovation projects.
Building on a partner network of more than 80 actors from research, healthcare, medical technology, IT and telecommunications, Medi.NET provides a foundation that will continue to be used and further developed for mobile, ambulatory and decentralized healthcare solutions beyond the project period.
