Feedback system for reducing brain damage during cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Feedback system that measures arterial blood flow during resuscitation using Doppler ultrasound – usable by laypersons without additional training; a mobile device with automated vessel location is in development.

The project focuses on researching and developing a device that enables quantitative measurement of arterial blood flow during resuscitation and can be used by the majority of the population outside of hospitals without additional training. The main component of the project is the use of a method from the field of non-invasive Doppler ultrasound frequency measurement.
An automatic process for evaluating the measured Doppler frequencies is intended to calculate a suitable measurement regime without the need for parameterization, with which the window for Doppler measurement within a vessel is optimally selected and the recorded blood flows are quantified, converted into sound, and stored. Database analysis has been finished, and a mobile device featuring automated vessel location is in development.
