Non-invasive Magnetic Resonance Guided Focused Ultrasound in the treatment of uterine fibroids
Non-invasive treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids with MR-guided focused ultrasound – with real-time temperature mapping and a very low complication rate.

- MR Technology
Non-invasive therapy of symptomatic uterine fibroids after unsuccessful drug treatment. The ablating ultrasound waves can be precisely focused on a circumscribed area. MR imaging is used for the positioning and controlling of the ablation in real time, as well as for the temperature mapping during the ablation. The gentle ablation allows the patient to go back to usual day activities almost right after the therapy.
The complication rate is very low. Relevant complications like skin burns or organ damage are very rare. The complications of the more invasive alternatives as well as the incapacity to work can be avoided and the overall therapy costs reduced.

3MP-FUS Multimodality Multi-purpose Multi-platform Focused Ultrasound – Neuromodulation in rare neuropsychiatric disorders with focused ultrasoundMulti-purpose, multi-parameter, multi-platform FUS system for transcranial neuromodulation in rare neuropsychiatric disorders. In 2025 the neuro-navigated system was integrated with Localite into the 1.5 T MRI (automatic slice orientation along the acoustic lobe) and transferred to the 3.0 T MRI at MPI CBS, where a neuromodulation pilot on volunteers is being prepared.
